IOGP Member Companies were invited to provide information on executed jacket decommissioning case studies for the first time in 2024. The information compiled includes durations of offshore execution and project specific information to enable analysis of data outliers, such as year of removal, removal vessel type used, and jacket configurations details. The duration of offshore execution is proportional to offshore execution cost, allowing IOGP Members to benchmark. This Report is produced with the aim of providing a high-level overview of the data compiled. Further details are available to IOGP Members that contributed data. It is noted that Decommissioning benchmarking studies have been attempted numerous times in the past decade, but due to insufficient participation, no meaningful benchmarking comparisons could be made. For this IOGP benchmarking study, a phased approach has been used, beginning with asset archetypes where data are readily available and then moving into the archetypes where there is keen interest, given the few actual projects that have taken place (e.g., spars, Tension Leg Platforms (TLPs), etc). High level duration data will be used initially, with the aspiration to move into more detailed durational data (e.g., UK project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)) and potentially cost comparisons.
