Contractors have historically faced a variety of complex challenges in complying with substance misuse/abuse testing requirements from multiple owners and operators within the oil and gas industry. This recommended practice, summarizing and collating drug and alcohol testing programme components for oil and gas companies, will drive consistency of practice between companies and serve to enhance the deterrence of drug and alcohol misuse within those workplaces. This recommended practice identifies key drug and alcohol programme elements and is intended for use by contractor companies and oil and gas industry owners and operators.
