IOGP published Report 456, Process Safety – Recommended Practice on Key Performance Indicators in November 2011 to provide guidance on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to upstream companies for managing process safety hazards and risks and to prevent unplanned and uncontrolled loss of containment of materials. 2017p, Process safety events – 2017 data, is a further step towards making Process Safety Event (PSE) data and associated KPIs available to stakeholders. PSE data presented in this report are based on voluntary submissions from participating IOGP member companies and are not necessarily representative of the entire upstream oil and gas industry.
