In recent decades, the development and application of new technologies have enabled the development of hydrocarbon resources previously considered undevelopable. As systems become more sophisticated, the consideration of human capabilities must be considered in the design phase. Systems must be designed in a way that the human interface is easy to understand in normal and abnormal situations.
